Heading into the offseason, Alex Hornibrook had established his role as the Badgers starting quarterback and took some big steps towards improving in his second year under center.

Badgers will kickoff their 2017 football season hosting utah state at camp randall stadium... last night bucky took a big step in that direction with the conclusion of spring practice highlighted as always by the annual spring game scrimmage... (((ryan))) the defense dominated most of the contest... but that's not surprising considering the amount of key offensive players either sitting out or played extremely limited snaps... the likes of quarterback alex hornibrook and tight end troy fumagali practiced before the scrimmage but were spectators after that... bradrick shaw and chris james were used sparingly as they compete for carries out of the backfield this fall... but back to the badgers q-b... he didn't need to play in the scrimmage to know he's come a long way from a year ago... alex hornibrook: "a big thing for me was just kind of applying what i was working on in the offseason be it the offense, the reads, pocket movements.

I saw the improvements there.

I felt a lot different on the field.

I was really just hoping to further what i've done in the fall, and go off my experiences that i've had.

I think i just took time to get better every day, and it definitely felt like i was."
