The bibb county coroner is speaking out after the number of homicides in the county has reached thirty.
And with one death still being investigated... the number could surpass last year.

Each name bibb coroner leon jones is saying, belongs to a life taken.... "aljuwon moss, ebony smith.

Since january of this year, macon-bibb county has seen 30 homicides.
The same ernumb it saw total last year.
"that's not the year i wa looking forward to.
I told y'all that in the beginning."
Bibb county coroner leon jones says he doesn't know how to stop the violence.
"i just don' understand how someone can get so mad and just kill someone.
I just don't understand it."
22 out of the 30 homicides, were gun related.
Jones says most of these incidents happen out of a moment of rage.
"you cannot b confrontation al on every issue.
Someone has to have the common sense to back down and walk away."
He says until people know he says until people know that, the killing won't stop.
"we have, what, 3 more months, more months to go.
It is scary to think what the number of homicides is going to be at the end of this year."

C1 3 b15 jones says, 55- year old jeffery burke was badly beaten on father's day.
He was at the hospital for 2 months, and discharged in august.
Burke died sunday.
An autopsy is being conducted this week.
