Julie Wilson was in the middle of covering Hurricane Florence when she stopped to save a dog about to drown in rising floodwaters.

Wilson works for ABC 11 in New Bern, North Carolina, where the dog was one of many animals endangered by the storm.

Some horses were also rescued after the town of Trenton, North Carolina, was inundated by floodwaters.
