>>>rob vaughn: parts of reading are now three days into a boil water advisory, and still, around two thousand customers are waiting to find out if their water is safe to use.

Wfmz's jim vasil is live in reading with more on the city's continuing water woes.


>>jim vasil: rob, i spoke with officials at the reading area water authority.

They say the boil water advisory remains in effect for parts of center city and the southside.

This problem started on saturday with low water pressure.

Now, they wait on test results.

In the meantime, schools and business are hoping they figure it out.

>>nat >>reporter as a water pressure issue enters its third day in reading... water isn't the only thing that is unclear.

>>cheryl burton "it's been looking pretty bad."

>>nat >>reporter the reading area water authority has issued a boil water advisory until further notice.

Marvel ranch owner cheryl burton is taking tap water off the menu... but she's not sure for long they'll have to.

>>cheryl burton "we're just telling customers that we don't suggest that they drink any of the water unless it's bottled water."

>>reporter she says their ice is unscathed because it's filtered... but like many other restaurants around here, they have to boil their water to do basic culinary tasks.

>>cheryl burton "it's kind of hard to boil water for every customer who wants a cup of water."

>>reporter outside reading's restaurant scene... a handful of schools are also affected, including tyso?schoener elementary and southwest middle schools.

Reading school district officials say they're providing bottled water for students and staff this week.

>>angelo romaniello "we're focused on making sure our students are safe."

>>reporter ?lead charter school is also affected.

School principal angelo romaniello says the school is taking the same measures.

>>jim vasil: again, officials from the water authority told me they're waiting on samples to come back from testing... and they expect them to come back tomorrow evening.
