In 19 days, wounded warriors have collectively cycled more than 2,100 miles for Soldier Ride Across America, a cross-country journey to raise awareness for veteran issues.
The ride commemorates the 15-year anniversary of Long Island native and veteran supporter Chris Carney’s historic coast-to-coast cycling venture in support of wounded warriors, which spurred the creation of the Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) Soldier Ride® program.
“When we were getting close to the swap point, I didn’t want it to be over,” said Jered Holder, Army veteran and Soldier Ride Across America Central team cyclist.
“It was such an amazing experience.
I feel that I accomplished everything that I wanted to.
It’s amazing, and it’s bittersweet at the same time.”
