Loper reviews 'Bohemian Rhapsody, 'Nobody's Fool'

The s&p 500 managed a 15 point gain.

"we want to do something different."

"it's my money, i say what goes."

"we can't simpl repeat ourselves."

"no, we can do better."

"freddie could you tell us the rumors concerning your sexuality?"

"queen, how long can that last?"

That was a clip from "bohemian rhapsody", one of the newest movies to hit theaters will it rock you or is this another one that bites the dust?

Here to let us know is our film critic, wil loper this film packs a lot of story and events into 2 hours and 15 minutes, giving a breezy overview of the rise of queen, and even though it doesn't quite resonate as much as it should, the music alone makes this movie worth seeing.

Rami malek stars as freddie mercury, a man of parsi descent who dreams of becoming a star.

We see mercury approach guitarist brian may and drummer roger taylor after they've played in a bar about being their new singer.

After hearing him sing f 12 seconds, he's in.

From there, we watch the meteoric rise of the band we all know as queen, and all the drama and debauchery that comes with it.

And while we visit all the band's major moments, it never spends too much time on any particular event, and instead is more a cliffs ne version of the band's history.

There would be several times throughout the film i'd crave to know more about how a certain song was written, or want to see more their time together and struggles before getting famous.

But when you have this much info to pack in one movie, it's hard to do without making it ten hours long.

The movie is still enjoyable, it's hard to not have fun at the movies with countless catchy and amazing songs they wrote, but it's not the best queen movie that it could be 3 sacha baron cohen's out of 5.

I still wonder what the movie would have been with his vision that brian may and roger taylor put a stop to.

Next up: "nobody's fool" tika sumpter plays danica, a woman who has been talking to a man on the phone for a year but has never skyped him, seen his face, or met him.

So when her sister, tanya, played by tiffany haddish, hears this, she naturally assumes he's catfishing her and sets out to protect her sister.

This movie is very r- rated, plenty of raunchy jokes, but more often than not, the jokes land, in part to tiffany haddish's manic performance.

Haddish is used to much better effect here than in last month's "night school" th kevin hart.

It starts to feel a little overlong by the end, but still worth it to see tiffany haddish wound up and let go.

What's your rating?

3.2 whoopi goldberg's out of 5.

Next week?

'the grinch' have a great week and we'll be right
