Mississippi Stays Red as Final Senate Race of the Season Ends

It's nearing a month since election day for the midterms and some elections are just now being called.

On Tuesday it was official, Cindy Hyde-Smith will remain Mississippi's Senator after a special run-off election against democrat Mike Epsy who was hoping to become the state's first black senator since Reconstruction.

Luke Ramseth, reporter for the Clarion-Ledger, told Cheddar that while the election ended in GOP hands, the tight race shows a shift in a deep-red state's politics.
