China Plans To Build An Underwater Base That’s Run By Robots
So China is apparently planning on building an underwater base that will be run entirely by robots.
????Yeah, AI is going to get it’s own little hang out at a base deep down in the South China Sea.
????The South China Morning Post says that scientists at the Chinese Academy of Sciences plan to make the base the “first artificial intelligence colony on Earth.”????Cables running down to the base will give it the power and robotic submarines will go out on exploratory missions.
????It will have a docking base just like a space station and the submarines will survey new areas and collect data on marine life.
????And while the project is estimated to cost $160 million to complete, it could be a very worthwhile investment….????The research could help us better understand climate change, identify endangered species or even lead to new medicines.
