Suspect Fleeing Robbery Caught After Crashing Into Police Vehicle Stopped at Red Light

Police caught a robbery suspect who was fleeing from a crime scene after he crashed his car into a police vehicle that was stopped at a red light, in Tarpon Springs, Florida, on November 29.The Pasco Sheriff’s Office said that the suspect had already struck another vehicle while fleeing the scene of a robbery by “sudden snatching”, but that deputies disengaged their initial pursuit as the suspect was traveling at more than 100 miles per hour.Shortly after the pursuit was discontinued, the suspect lost control of his vehicle and hit a stationary police vehicle.

The suspect fled the scene on foot and his vehicle can be seen in this video abandoned at the side of the road.

He was apprehended shortly after.The deputy that was in the struck vehicle and the suspect suffered only minor injuries, police said.This video shows the suspect crashing into the police vehicle as captured by the bodycam of a deputy in a tailing vehicle.
