New Poll Shows Majority Of New Yorkers Support Amazon Moving In
Amazon has chosen Long Island City, Queens, for one of the campuses for its HQ2.
A new poll from Quinnipiac University says 57% of New Yorkers say they welcome Amazon into the neighborhood.
26% say they oppose it.
For poll respondents in Queens, the data showed a 60% approval to 26% rejection.
Some local politicians and community groups have voiced opposition to Amazon's decision.
The poll showed more divisiveness regarding the up to $3 billion in tax incentives the city and state are offering the company.
46% of poll respondents support the incentives and 44% oppose it.
31% of respondents say rising housing costs is their largest concern about Amazon's HQ2.
Amazon's other HQ2 will be located in the National Landing area of Arlington, Virginia.
