CROWD SINGING, JUMPING IN UNISON STORY: River Plate fans celebrated in Madrid's Sol square into the early hours of Monday (December 10) after watching their team win a fourth Copa Libertadores title.

River battled back to beat arch Argentine rivals Boca Juniors 3-1 in extra-time in an unforgettable and unique final second leg of the South American club competition, played in the Spanish capital after violence had seen the original game postponed.

River's victory means they will represent South America in the Club World Cup that kicks off on Dec.

12 in the United Arab Emirates and guarantees them bragging rights over their neighbours for many years to come.

The club are expected to fly directly to the Middle East but striker Lucas Pratto said the players would take some time to celebrate before their first match on Dec.
