Jimmy Dean Recalls Thousands of Pounds of Sausage Products

Thousands of pounds of Jimmy Dean meat products have been recalled after customers reported finding metal inside them.

The USDA  said in a press release  Monday CTI Foods LLC is recalling more than 29,000 pounds of Jimmy Dean Heat 'n Serve Original Sausage Links Made with Pork & Turkey.

A note  on Jimmy Dean's website  said multiple consumers told CTI they discovered "small, string-like fragments of metal" in the product.

The company says the fragments were found in a very limited number of packages, but it decided to issue the recall out of an abundance of caution.

No injuries or illnesses in connection to the products have been reported.
