A new straw poll released by MoveOn.org shows that Beto O'Rourke is ahead of Joe Biden as a potential 2020 contender by little more than half a point.

((VO))??Outgoing Texas Representative Beto O’Rourke is the lead democratic contender for the 2020 presidential race.????((VO-MoveOn Screenshot))??According to a new straw poll created by progressive group MoveOn.org.????((VO-O’Rourke Reuters/Joe Biden/Bernie Sanders))??O’Rourke was selected by 15.6 of respondents and only narrowly beat out former Vice President Joe Biden, who was selected by 14.9 percent of respondents.

Senator Bernie Sanders comes in as the third contender with 13.15 percent of respondents voting for him.

????((VO-Ted Cruz))??According to The Hill O’Rourke has had a breakout year in the Democratic party after launching his Senate campaign bid against Republican Ted Cruz.

Ultimately he lost to Cruz.????((VO-Poll Screenshot/Democratic Imagery))??The MoveOn.org straw poll also showed nearly 18 percent of those asked either said they did not yet know who they would support or wanted someone else not listed among the group's more than 30 potential candidate choices.????((VO-Kamala/Elizabeth))??Some other candidates near the top of the list were high profile elected officials like Kamala Harris and Elizabeth Warren.????((VO-Voters))??More than 63 percent of those surveyed said they want candidates "who inspire the public with deep progressive values and will move us toward a more progressive future where everyone can thrive." ??((VO-WH))??MoveOn, which backed Sanders over Hillary Clinton in 2016, isn't yet endorsing a potential presidential candidate.??
