Angels descend from belltower in picturesque Czech town

ROUGH CUT.

NO REPORTER NARRATION.

Thousands of people watched angels flying from a church tower during the last Advent weekend Christmas market in Ustek, in northern Czech Republic on Saturday (December 15).

Three young girls dressed as angels were lowered from the St.

Peter and Paul Church tower in the town's main square, as crowds watched.

The women showed no fear as they descended from a height of nearly 30 metres.

Many years ago, Libor Ulhlik, the event organiser, claims he saw an angel flying through the St.

Marcus square in Venezia and this inspired him to start the angels flying event during the Advent as part of the Ustek's Christmas Market.

The angels flying event has become a popular tradition in the medieval Czech town since it was first held 18 years ago.
