on Christmas Day.
He then played until a timeout was called and left looking in considerable pain.
Even though an MRI revealed the injury is not serious, the Lakers say James
needs time to heal.
According to 'ESPN,' the team doesn't want to rush James back out of fear of his groin worsening.
Before his injury, the 33-year-old played in 156 straight NBA games.
In his first season with the Lakers,
James is averaging 27.3 points.
