Automakers See A Decline In U.S. New Vehicle Sales At End Of 2018

Major automakers posted a weak finish to the year for U.S. new vehicle sales but they remained bullish on the outlook for the economy.

In December, Ford reported an 8.8% drop in sales with declines in passenger cars, SUVs and pickup trucks.

Ford's F-Series pickup trucks have been the bestselling U.S. brand since the 1980s, but even sales of those trucks fell 1.8% in the final month of 2018.

According to Reuters, automakers may be optimistic about the year ahead, but financial analysts say U.S.
