Former Tennessee Teacher Who Kidnapped Student Gets 20 Years
Reuters reports a former Tennessee high school teacher was arrested in California this week and sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Tad Cummins, 52, left with a female student in 2017 on a cross-country journey.
He originally faced the possibility of life imprisonment for transporting a minor with intent to engage in sexual activities.
Federal prosecutors reportedly requested a sentence of 30 years.
Cummins became the target of a national manhunt after luring his 15-year-old high school student into a car in 2017.
