Record-setting Group of Migrants Tunneled Under U.S. Border Wall
The largest single group of asylum seekers ever entered the U.S. by tunneling under the border wall according to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection.????ABC News Reports 376 migrants were detained near Yuma, Arizona with a majority of the group entering the country by going underneath the Southern border wall and then turning themselves into patrol agents.????The CBP said that of the 376 people processed, 179 were children and 30 of those were minors traveling on their own.
The agency says over 80 percent of apprehensions are parents with children.????The Border Patrol also says that similar to this record-number group of migrants, a vast majority of caravans surrender or turn themselves in to agents to begin the asylum process.????This record-setting crossing comes during the longest government shutdown as President Trump and congressional Democrats argue over nearly $6 billion of funding to build a new Southern border wall.
