U.S. Consumer Confidence Is Low

According to Reuters, U.S consumer confidence fell to a 1-1/2 year-low in January.

The partial shutdown of the government led to turmoil in financial markets and left households a bit nervous about the economy’s future.

Now that the shutdown is over and financial markets are stabilizing, some economists expect a rebound in consumer confidence in the months ahead.

Home sales also plummeted in December and manufacturing numbers weakened in January.
