Thanks for joining us this today: isolated snow showers this morning will give way to widespread dry conditions and mostly to partly cloudy skies this afternoon.

Temperatures tomorrow will remain cool.

The rogue valley and northern california will see temperatures in the upper 30s to low 40s, the klamath basin will see temperatures in the upper 20s to low 30s, and the coast will be fairly mild with temperatures in the mid to upper 40s.

Tonight: the main story tonight will be the temperatures.

We are expecting dry and mostly clear conditions tonight with frigid temperatures around the region.

The rogue valley and northern california will see temperatures bottom out in the upper teens to low 20s.

The klamath basin will be extremely cold with temperatures in the single digits to low teens.

Subzero temperatures cannot be ruled out in some areas of the klamath basin overnight tonight.

Even the typically mild coast will see temperatures in the low to mid 30s this evening.

A frost advisory is in effect for western curry county from 2 am - 8 am monday morning.

During this time period, tmperatures are expected to be anywhere from 33 - 36.

These temperatures may promote widespread frost which can create problems for sensative plants.

With the snow comes new chain requirements this morning.

Owner donna bergquist of calahans lodge says the storms have only turned the lodge into a winter wonderland.he says business this winter has been great.

The lodge has been booked most nights.

Employees have even had to turn some people away.

A stark contrast from last year's winter the snow has only coem twice in large quanity quick but for the most part we've been able to still reiceve guests in the parking lot and play in the snow and what not.

A mount ashland ski patrol member is dead.

The jackson county sheriff's office says the 23 year old skier crashed into a tree around 1:30 yesterday.

The man was skiing on the south side of the mountain, outside the boundaries of the mt ashland ski area.

Deputies say he was with a group of other ski patrol members who got him back up the slope to the ski area.

First responders performed cpr until the man was pronounced dead around 3:30.

The man's family has been notified.

The sheriff's office is not releasing his name right 2 was the only station on the scene yesterday.

Police say the suspect rear ended the car you see here causing it to crash into the building.

It caused major damage to the car, but police say the building did not get signficiant damage.

Police say the suspect took off after the crash and was arrested a few miles away.

The suspect faces several charges including duii, reckless driving and leaving the scene of a crash.

No one was hurt.

[a22]medford drug arrest-mug a medford woman wanted by medford division of the pacific northwest violent offenders task force arrested 26 year old kayla nav-ar-o.

Navarro was wanted on a federal warrant for conspiracy to distribute controlled substances.

Investigators found her getting in a car in medford.

They arrested her and found meth and heroin.

Ted wheeler, portland mayor: "there's no question that the people in this community have long believed there's a bias in our police bureau, in favor of the white nationalism movement."

The mayor, who's also the police commissioner, is promising an investigation into what he calls disturbing texts between a police bureau commander and the head of the right wing patriot prayer group.

The two years worth of messages between lieutenant jeff niiya and joey gibson, paint what some call an overly friendly relationship.

For example, some of the texts reference a patriot prayer member who had a warrant out for his arrest.

Niiya texting to gibson: "btw, make sure tiny has his court stuff taken care of.

I was told on the radio at the jamison square event he had a warrant.

I told them we would not be arresting tiny right now.

So please be sure he's good to go before coming down."

I also talked one on one today with city commissioner jo ann hardesty: jo ann hardesty, portland city commissioner: "para military organizations act in lock-step.

So if we have one police officer that's doing this, there's many more than just one."

The pice union that represents niiya calls the mayor and hardesty's comments a rush to judgment, that quote "may serve to enflame and prejudice any administrative investition and its outcome ... lieutenant niiya was given direction by ppb management to establish relationships with known event or demonstration organizers."
