White House Says We Will Leave Roughly 200 U.S. Troops In Syria
The White House plans to leave roughly 200 troops in Syria.
????White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders did say this was a “rough estimate” and that it is “not a specific number.”????Adding, “At the end of the day the president wants to bring our troops home and he’s working towards that…”????And while President Trump said he intended to pull the troops out of Syria in 2018, he has since backed away from that claim.
????It isn’t known how long the small contingent of U.S. troops will remain in Syria.
????Some worry the move to pull our troops from Syria will allow ISIS to add to its dwindling numbers, although Trump has stated that ISIS has been defeated.
????Senator Lindsey Graham said in a statement that the White House’s new plan “ensures Turkey and [Syrian Democratic Forces] elements that helped us defeat ISIS will not go into conflict.” ??
