At the time I was the Real Madrid coach, the club needed it too.

Maybe not, but the team needed a change after having won everything.

But not only with me, also before because this club is what it is and they needed a change at the time.

And now the reason why I decided to come back is because the president called me and, since I love the president and the club, here I am." 6.

ZIDANE AT NEWS CONFERENCE STORY: Zinedine Zidane said on Monday (March 11) he was happy to be back as he addressed journalists during his presentation as Real Madrid's coach.

"I am happy to be back and ready to start work tomorrow," the Frenchman, who resigned from Real last May, said.

Zidane's reappointment on a three-year deal follows the club's decision to sack Santiago Solari from the first team following Real's exit from the Champions League Madrid were eliminated from the Champions League in the last 16 by Ajax Amsterdam on Tuesday (March 5) after two Clasico defeats by Barcelona, knocking Real out of the Copa del Rey and leaving them 12 points adrift of the Catalan league leaders.

Zidane won an unprecedented three consecutive Champions League titles with the Spanish giants before resigning last year, with his replacement Julen Lopetegui sacked in October and Solari lasting just over four months in charge.

Solari will no longer be linked to the first team but will remain in the club.
