SHOWS: 1.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) RENAULT FORMULA ONE DRIVER DANIEL RICCIARDO, SAYING: "Yeah I mean it doesn't change my mindset at all.

In terms of for sure like if people ask me if are you going to win this weekend.

You know obviously I want to say yes because I believe in my heart I've got what it takes to win.

But I also have to be realistic and that is not necessarily the likely scenario.

So I just have to be a bit more measured with my responses and just try to get people to understand the reality of this at the moment." 2.

WHITE FLASH 3.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) RENAULT FORMULA ONE DRIVER DANIEL RICCIARDO, SAYING: "Even the first time I put the race suit on, you know I've worn a navy blue race suit with the Red Bulls on it since 2008 since I was a junior.

So I thought putting on different colours, different sponsors, all that, would feel a little weird.

Maybe because I was prepared for it, I don't know, but it didn't.

It just felt like I had been here before, I've changed teams before, not so much in F1, but in my younger days.

It doesn't feel strange, weird, awkward, it feels right, it feels normal." STORY: Daniel Ricciardo said suiting up in the yellow and black of Renault felt "like normal" on Tuesday (March 12), ahead of the opening Grand Prix of the year in Melbourne.

The Australian's move to the French manufacturer team from Red Bull at the end of last year was a long term play for the Perth native.

Ricciardo said a win was unlikely on his Renault debut, but was enthusiastic to push the car as far up the grid as possible.

The Melbourne Grand Prix will also see a changing in the Formula One scoring system, with a point being awarded to the driver with the fastest lap and Ricciardo was positive that this may encourage more competition later on in the race.

The Australian Grand Prix is on Sunday (March 17).
