Actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin are being charged in a large-scale college entrance exam cheating scam, among 40 other people.
????NBC News reports that the scheme involved getting student admitted to elite universities as recruited athletes, regardless of their actual athletic ability.
????As well as helping possible students cheat on their college exams. Some of the schools included UCLA, Stanford University, and Georgetown.
????A criminal complaint says the FBI recorded phone calls involving celebrities and cooperating witnesses.
????NBC notes, that The Alleged scheme was reportedly run by William Rick Singer, the founder of a college preparation business.
Parents would pay between $15k-75k per test for someone else to take the exam for their child.????Huffman was in the ABC show “Desperate Housewives” while Loughlin is known for her role in the sitcom “Full House.” Both were charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services fraud.
????And while 44 people have been charged so far, there is no indication that the schools were involved in any wrongdoing.
