Chicago Police Officers Protest Over State Attorney's Decision to Drop Charges Against Jussie Smollett

The Chicago Fraternal Order of Police protested outside State Attorney Kim Foxx’s office on April 1 over the decision to drop charges against actor Jussie Smollett, who was accused of staging a hate crime against himself, local media reported.A counter-protest was called for by the Chicago Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression, who said, “We know that the police abuse their power to oppress Black and Latinx communities, and now we see an abuse of power in an attempt to control the narrative around a case involving a queer Black male.”This footage shows participants in the Fraternal Order of Police protest holding signs criticizing Kim Foxx.
