The Talk - Carrie Ann Inaba and Sheryl Underwood on Best Career Advice from Madonna and Tupac Shakur
Hosts Carrie Ann Inaba and Sheryl Underwood open up about career advice from performers Madonna and Tupac Shakur.
Inaba shares, "I think the best advice I got was actually, not advice, but it was from Madonna, when I worked with her a long time ago.
I was just a dancer, and I was really intimidated by her, I remember.
And we were negotiating, and she played really hardball with us, like her team did.
They were like, 'You can't have that because you are working with Madonna, and you will be able to use the name...that's going to take you places'... It taught me to really be aware of what the other person is thinking about in the negotiation," reveals Inaba.
"I'm always grateful to her for that." "The best piece of advice I got was from Tupac Shakur and he told me to, 'Do what got you invited,' shares Underwood.
"I would get the job and then I would start second guessing myself, and he said, 'Sheryl, why are you nervous?
Do what got you invited.'"
