He's wanted to be an educator since he was a kid.
Now he's doing that job at naomi elementary school in walker county.
His students say he's a good teacher, is fun, and helps them learn.
That's why he has earned this week's golden apple award.

Kristi: mr. hagman really goes above and beyond.
Anytime that i need it anytime that i need extra help either with a student or or with an activity with an activity here at school, he definitely he definitely jumps right in the help and support, gives me all the help and support i need so that we can do what is best we can do what is best for our kids.

Jason: i've been teaching for i have been teaching for 1616 years.
California mostly in california we just moved out.
We just moved out to the south a couple of years ago.
Most of my life my mom say it even when i was a kid that i wanted to be a teacher.
Most of my family are teachers.
I've got a great aunt who is a teacher.
I've got several aunts and uncles teachers who are teachers.
And my mom and my mom always worked at my elementary school when i was a kid.
So i just kinda, it was in my blood i guess.
Autumn: he is a very effective communicator.
We get to see her project their projects.
He gives us snippets of presentations presentations that they make in front of the class.
So we always know what's going on, we always know the stuff that he and mrs. ryan are doing great things in the classroom and kids are learning that they are safe and it is a happy place for them to be so i appreciate that as a parent.
Jason: sometimes you wonder why am i really reaching these kids?
So it's nice to see that other people are seeing it to.
Matthew: he is a really good teacher and he gives us a lot of stuff.
He teaches a social studies, math, writing eli: he is a pretty good teacher and he teaches us all about math.
Kimberly: mr. hackman is so kind.
He helps us.
He helps us do math and and i really like him.

Jason: i love working with kids and it is so cool to see when they finally make a connection and we see that kind of aha moment.
It's just an awesome thing to see.
I just want these kids to learn and love school and just be kind of all around good people; more than i am worried about a test score or how they do in class.
