Dog sledders trek across the Arctic tundra

A group of amateurs crossed the finish line on Saturday of a 300-kilometer Arctic dog sled race.

Thirty amateur sledders, along with 200 digs, completed a grueling race across 300 kilometers of Arctic tundra on Saturday (April 13).

The Fjallraven Polar, inspired by the famous Iditarod dog sled race in Alaska, began on April 8, finishing five days later.

The group had to cope with camping and sledding in sub-zero temperatures as they ventured across the landscape between Norway and Sweden.

The event started in 2012 and attracted this year's race attracted applications from 2,183 people from 92 countries.
