Scientists 3D-Printed First Heart with Human Tissue, Blood Vessels

Imagine simply building a human heart for a transplant patient????That sounds crazy, but we’re one step closer to the major feat????Israeli scientists say they’ve 3D-printed the first heart with blood vessels and human cells????They used a biopsy of fatty tissue from patients for the “bio-ink”????The catch is, it’s only the size of a rabbit heart at this stage????but the Tel Aviv University team says creating larger ones uses the same tech????The heart can contract, but they need to figure out how to give cells the pumping ability????There are still tons of hurdles, but the tech could be big for people needing transplants????Their research was published in the journal Advanced Science??
