WHITE FLASH 3.

(SOUNDBITE) (English) TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR MANAGER MAURICIO POCHETTINO, ON CLUB'S ACHIEVEMENT CONSIDERING HOW LITTLE THEY SPENT COMPARED TO CITY, SAYING: "But of course, you describe the reality and the reality is that Tottenham is still needing to improve in order to be on the level of Manchester City or Real Madrid or Barcelona and be in the last level like the big sides in Europe.

But I think we are in a very good way.

Now it's a moment like I told you before the press conference, it's about to close a chapter this season and try to design another chapter in Tottenham to try to achieve the thing that the club deserves with an amazing stadium and amazing fans, to try to be competitive again, to try to decide the strategy to fight and be a real contender for the big things." STORY: Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino hailed his team as "heroes" after Wednesday's (April 17) astonishing Champions League quarter-final with Manchester City ended in an away goals win for his team after ending 4-4 on aggregate.

The 4-3 win on the night for Manchester City was so nearly 5-3 -- and progress to the last four for City -- but Raheem Sterling's stoppage time effort was ruled out by a VAR review which correctly spotted Sergio Aguero off-side.

"It was unbelievable - the way it finished," said Pochettino.

Pochettino, who was without injured leading scorer Harry Kane, said he had gone through a wild mix of emotions during the final moments as four words flashed up on the big screen - "No goal, VAR, offiside" - confirmed that Sterling's goal had been over-turned.
