North Korea oversees test of new weapon -KCNA

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un oversaw the testing of a new type of tactical guided weapon Wednesday.

The defiant move comes after a second U.S.-North Korea summit in Hanoi ended with no agreement in February...and raises questions about U.S. President Donald Trump repeated claims that: (SOUNDBITE) U.S. PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP, SAYING: "Right now you have no testing you have no nothing.

Let's see what happens.

But I would be very disappointed if I saw testing." North Korea's state news agency or KCNA, which first reported Wednesday's test, did not share details on whether the weapon tested was a missile -- but the use of the word "tactical" implies a short-range weapon, as opposed to the long-range ballistic missiles that have been seen as a threat to the U.S. KCNA added that the missile had a "peculiar mode of guiding flight" and "a powerful warhead." This comes as Kim vowed last year that North Korea would stop nuclear tests and launches of intercontinental ballistic missiles, because Pyongyang's nuclear capabilities had been "verified." But in November he went on to oversee the test of an unidentified "tactical weapon" - worrying regional experts about his intentions.

Adding to concerns---satellite images from last week show movement at North Korea's main nuclear site that could be associated with the reprocessing of radioactive material into bomb fuel, according to the the Center for Strategic and International Studies.
