Drone footage shows Notre-Dame Cathedral protected from elements by makeshift roof
NO REPORTER NARRATION Workers at Paris' iconic Notre-Dame cathedral on Monday (April 29) completed their task of covering part of the structure damaged by a devastating fire two weeks ago.
In drone footage provided by police authorities, a large white tarpaulin can be seen covering the cathedral's vaults after its roof went up in smoke and sent the towering spire crashing through the vaulted ceiling on April 15.
The massive blaze consumed the religious building, gutting the roof of the Paris landmark and stunning France and the world - though firefighters managed to save the main bell towers and outer walls from collapse before bringing the flames under control.
