Lisa: the class of 20-19 is joined by missouri southern's first graduating class for the university's 72-nd commencement.

The golden grads---m-s-su's graduates from the class of 19-69--- led the way for students as a record breaking nine hundred thirty five degrees were awarded.

Speakers from southern's early history shared words of wisdom for students taking their next steps forward.

Educators say the tassle is worth the hassle for the hundreds of students reaching this milestone.

"over your lifetime, a person with a bachelors degree will earn a million dollars more than someone with just a high school diploma.

So, just in dollars and cents, it's really worth it plus the value that it adds to your life."
