Huffman to plead guilty in admissions scandal

Actress Felicity Huffman is set to plead guilty in a Boston FEDERAL court on Monday to a charge of conspiracy to commit fraud… in what prosecutors call the largest college admissions scam uncovered in U.S. history.

The Desperate Housewives actress is accused of paying $15,000 to have someone secretly correct her daughter's SAT college entrance exam answers.

Huffaman is among 50 people accused of engaging in schemes that involved cheating on entrance exams, faking athletic achievements, and paying $25 million in bribes to get their children into elite U.S. universities.

As part of a plea deal, prosecutors have agreed to recommend a prison term at the “low end” of the four to 10 months Huffman faces.

She also agreed to pay a $20,000 fine and restitution.

Last month, Full House Lori Loughlin and her fashion designer husband Mossimo Giannulli plead not guilty to charges in the scandal, including money laundering conspiracy.

The extensive scam was masterminded by California college admissions consultant William “Rick” Singer… who has plead guilty to facilitating the scam AND bribing coaches to present the parents’ children as fake athletic recruits.

The admissions scandal is making its way to Hollywood.

Just this week, Annapurna Television said it plans to turn it into a one-hour limited series.
