Trump Expected To Propose Plan Making U.S. Immigration More Merit Based

According to a report by Reuters, on Thursday, senior administration officials said that US President Donald Trump will outline an immigration plan aimed at hardening border ports of entry and making the legal migration system based more on English proficiency and employment.

The proposed changes, largely the product of senior advisors Jared Kushner and Stephen Miller and economic aide Kevin Hassett, are reportedly an effort to provide a framework for Republicans to rally around.
