Gundersen tri-county staff are volunteering their time to build beds for children in trempealeau county.
About 40 staff members are constructing 20 beds at melby park pavilion in whitehall.
The beds will support sleep in heavenly peace, a national non- profit organization.
Sleep in heavenly peace volunteers build and deliver twin or bunk beds to children ages 3 to 17 who sleep in undesirable conditions, which may be on the floor, couch, an air mattress or with family members.
Each bed comes with a mattress, linens, comforter and a pillow.
"one of the important things that we don't recognize is the importance of sleep hygiene for our children and for ourselves and the impact that it can have on our long term menatl health and physical health."
Last year... volunteers nationwide built more than 4 thousand bunk beds for more than
