Report Suggests 16% Of Uber, Lyft Vehicles Have Open Safety Recalls
Digital Trends reports a new report from Consumer Reports says about one in six cars registered with Uber and Lyft have unaddressed safety recalls.
The report, which looked at 94,000 rideshare vehicles registered in New York City and Seattle metropolitan areas, said 16.2% of the vehicles had one or more open recalls.
About 1.4% of the vehicles had open recalls associated with defective airbags from Japanese auto-parts manufacturer Takata.
The airbags have been linked to 24 deaths globally and 16 in the U.S.
