Pro-Choice Demonstrators Protest Abortion Restrictions in St Louis Streets
An estimated 500 people rallied on the streets of St Louis, Missouri, on Thursday, May 30, to protest against the potential closure of the last remaining abortion clinic in the state, the Post Dispatch reported.
Planned Parenthood, which operates the only remaining clinic in Missouri, was locked in a legal battle over the renewal of its license and was considering closing its Belleville clinic on Friday, May 31, according to reports.
This came after Missouri’s governor signed a recent bill that will severely restrict abortions in the state come August.
Video from St Louis shows protesters marching through downtown, waving signs and chanting slogans.
The ACLU said over 500 demonstrators joined the protests on Thursday.
