ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: New York Fashion Week: Mens officially kicked off on Monday (June 3) with designers debuting collections for spring/summer 2020.
Among the first to show during the 3 day event was first timer Michael Nelson, who presented his brand Amirok.
"For the collection we have different teams around the world.
Thailand, Myanmar, Guatemala, India literally around the world.
And so as soon as I do the presentation.
I then go right where they're weaving so we can start production." Veteran designer David Hart turned his space into a crime scene to display his new line.
"This is my homage to New York and there's really nothing more New York than the photographer, Weegee.
So, this season we partnered with the International Center for Photography and the Weegee estate.
And we used a bunch of his images.
And what's great about Weegee is he would always show up to crime scenes before the police.
Photograph the scene and his photography kind of broke the boundaries between press photography and fine art." The week will conclude on June 5th with over 20 designers showcasing new collections.
