Toronto Raptors Fans Go Wild at Kevin Durant's Injury
More than 20,000 basketball fans flooded Toronto’s Mississauga Celebration Square on Monday, June 10, for an outdoor broadcast of Game 5 of the NBA Finals between the Toronto Raptors and Golden State Warriors.
Warriors forward Kevin Durant, who had been out of action for more than a month with a calf injury, collapsed with just under 10 minutes remaining in the second quarter and had to be helped by teammates off the floor.
This added to the hopes of the home crowd for a series-clinching win, but it was not to be as the Warriors held on for a one-point win to bring the series to 3-2, with Game 6 in Oakland on June 13.
Following the game, an emotional Warriors president of basketball operations Bob Myers told reporters Durant suffered an Achilles injury.
