On Monday night, former Boston Red Sox all-star David Ortiz, was awake and stable after undergoing surgery in Boston for wounds suffered after he was shot in the Dominican Republic, according to his Wife.

He is expected to remain in the intensive care unit at Massachusetts General Hospital for the next few days
