Megan Rapinoe Defends Women's US Soccer Team

The women’s U.S. soccer team recently beat Thailand 13-0 in their first 2019 World Cup game.

Former player Taylor Twellman said that celebrating so many goals “leaves a sour taste in my mouth.” According to Reuters, U.S. captain Megan Rapinoe defended the team’s excited celebrations.

She said people should criticize them for not playing the right way or doing the right thing.

Rapinoe said: “I think our only crime was an explosion of joy last night.”
