Portuguese Maritime Patrol Rescue 52 Migrants From Greek Waters
Members of the Portugal’s National Maritime Authority, working as part of the EU’s FRONTEX operation, rescued 52 migrants in Greek waters on June 29.
One boat contained 13 people, including a child.
The individuals were transferred to a patrol boat and brought to Skalaas, where they were handed over to Greek authorities.
A second boat carrying migrants was followed to a beach, where 39 people, all Syrian, were interviewed and then transferred to the Greek authorities.
