Mum praises ‘miracle drug’ that has helped extend disabled son's life

A mum-of-two whose baby was given just a year to live – prompting her to 'grieve for him before he had died' – has praised NHS England’s decision to approve the miracle drug that is buying him extra time.

Kelly Harrison's son Vinnie James, who was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy type one, was offered a place on a clinical trial for the drug Spinraza.

He is now four and hitting milestones his parents never thought they would see.
