Tiger Woods has played only 10 competitive rounds since winning the Masters in April and his last tournament start was at the U.S Open.

By the time the 43-year-old tees up on Thursday he will have gone 32 days without playing competitively.

Woods told a news conference on Tuesday (July 16) he had played too many tournaments last year while trying to qualify for big events but had decided to cut back on his competitions.

Woods said his Masters victory took a lot out of him and he went on a two-week family vacation in Thailand after finishing tied for 21st at the U.S Open last month.

Asked how his current form was, Woods said he was not a sharp as he would like but was in good shape around the greens, adding he would need a varied game to play with the weather forecast predicting changable conditions for the Open which begins on Thursday (July 18).

Woods has 15 major titles.
