"We honor these men today and American will always honor our Apollo astronauts," Pence said Saturday, the anniversary of the lunar landing.

"They were heroes." It was 50 years ago to the day this past Tuesday (July 16) that astronauts Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong and Mike Collins were launched into space atop a Saturn 5 rocket from Florida's Kennedy Space Center.
