Your morning news now... the first funerals will be held today for some of the 22 people who were fatally shot at a walmart in el paso over the weekend.

President trump visited that city yesterday.

He also went to dayton, ohio... where nine people were killed in a mass shooting less than 24- hours after the texas shooting.

The president met with survivors and first responders.

Earlier in the day... he dismissed accusations that his rhetoric on immigration may have contributed to the violence.

Breaking overnight out of california ... four people are dead in a stabbing spree in the l-a area.

The alleged attacker is in custody.

Police say his motive appears to be robbery.

"we don't have all that stuff that they show on the tvs to solve crimes in 30 minutes, so it gives them a chance to know realistically what tools we have and how we use them."

Applications are now being accepted for sparta's citizen police academy.'

Gray wolves were essentially wiped out in california by the 19-20's.

But some of them have started wandering back in from neighboring states.

And the packers open their preseason at lambeau tonight against the texans.

Tonight will be the first time they have met in the preseason.
