Mitch McConnell Rejects Mayors' Plea For Gun Legislation

More than 200 mayors sent a plea to congress to call the Senate back early to consider new gun legislation.

According to Reuters, Republican Senate leader Mitch McConnell rejected the plea.

This comes after mass shootings within 24 hours that left 31 people dead.

The legislation mayors hope for would expand background checks for gun sales.
