President Donald Trump’s administration is trying to instill a new rule that would reduce legal immigration.

It would deny visas and permanent residencies to people if their income is too low or if they received public assistance.

According to Reuters, a coalition of 13 U.S. states sued the administration.

Washington state Attorney General Bob Ferguson said: “This rule is un-American, anti-immigrant and unlawful.” Ferguson said the new rule violates the Immigration and Nationality Act.
