US Negotiator Says Draft Peace Accord Ready For Trump Approval

Chief U.S. negotiator Zalay Khalilzad said the U.S. created a draft peace accord with the Taliban.

The agreement says the U.S. will withdraw almost 5,00 troops from Afghanistan and close five bases within 135 days.

According to Reuters, the deal was reached after months of negotiations with representatives from the insurgent movement.

The agreement must be approved by President Donald Trump before officially being signed.
